By incorporating social media trends into the app's design, Shoclef unites personal shoppers, buyers, and sellers to form a global social network. Shoclef has integrated essential social media features which allow users to follow others, submit friend requests, live chat during livestreams, full messenger features such as phone and video calls, make public or private posts, and browse current or past livestreams.
Just like other social networking sites, users can check out their profile, add friend request, like, share, and directly chat with them on the app in augmented reality. A quote bubble will show up above the user's head, viewed only by the other recipient. The app has full messenger capabilities such as instant chat messaging, phone and video calls, send images and videos, and group chat, making it easy for users nearby to connect.
Users can locate other users around them with geo location or facial recognition. To use facial recognition, just scan the room with a live camera feed. If a face is detected as a match in the database of active users, the person's profile will pop up in augmented reality.
With geo location, users can use their live camera feed from their phones to see what is around them such as businesses, products, and other users. Users can click on a business and its reviews, propped up by augmented reality, to view more about the business and their products. They can be guided directly to the business by following a virtual arrow with the projected distance away from destination while on their live camera feed.
Sellers – defined as businesses and service providers – also have the capability to earn money by live-streaming, make posts to the newsfeed to promote, and interact with buyers. Businesses can market their brand on a global platform to expand their customer base. Service providers are able to choose to provide online services by live consultation to multiple clients or on a one-on-one basis, or physical services like local handyman services.
This can have a major impact on sales for two reasons. By giving users the option to preview and buy the products offered in the stores before they ever step foot in there, businesses are gaining exposure and new customers both in the material and digital world. Secondly, it enhances the customer experience by making it simpler to shop around and connect with the businesses if they have any concerns or questions with the chat messenger feature.
